First three issues: no article processing charge
Launch waiver: the first three issues of the journal are free of article processing charges. All articles published in the first, second and third issues from the journal’s launch receive a full APC waiver automatically; no waiver application is required. The standard APC of USD 850 per accepted article applies from the fourth issue, subject to the discounts, full waivers and previous no-fee commitments described below. Inclusion in one of the first three issues depends on editorial and production scheduling and is not guaranteed by submission. This waiver does not affect peer review or editorial decisions. Updated: 20 October 2026.
Standard Article Processing Charge: USD 850 from the fourth issue
For articles published from the fourth issue, the standard article processing charge (APC) is USD 850 per accepted article, except where a discount, full waiver or previous no-fee commitment applies. There is no submission fee or peer-review fee. The APC becomes payable only after editorial acceptance and before publication; it is not a payment for acceptance, expedited review, or indexing. No additional per-page fee is charged.
Discounts and full waivers
Authors based in developing countries, particularly those with limited institutional or research funding, may request a partial discount or full waiver. Authors facing financial hardship elsewhere may also request consideration. Applications are assessed individually; country alone does not guarantee a particular reduction.
Request a waiver or discount when submitting, before an invoice is issued, by contacting editor@jkdjournal.com. Include the manuscript title or submission ID, corresponding-author affiliation and country, funding availability, and a brief explanation. Do not send identity documents or unrelated financial records. The office will confirm any approved reduction in writing. No fixed discount percentage is promised.
Transition and editorial independence
Articles already published and manuscripts submitted under the previous no-fee policy remain free of publication charges. The new charge is not applied retrospectively. Waiver decisions and ability to pay do not determine scholarly assessment or editorial acceptance.
Updated: October 20, 2026. The launch waiver applies to all articles in the first three issues, including the inaugural issue.
